Blog-Post Weight Loss Challenge

I had my regular monthly check-up with my Cardiologist the other day. My visit was intended only to get my regular monthly maintenance medicine for my high blood pressure. Based on my latest laboratory tests, it showed that my cholesterol level was low, uric acid value was low, blood sugar was perfect and my triglyceride level was a little bit high. But what my Cardiologist concerns much was his monitoring of my weight loss. For the past five or six months, my weight was fairly in between 96 and 97 kilograms. My desired weight according to my height and age should at least be  80 kilograms.  Wow 80 Kgs!

Previously my Cardiologist challenged me to meet the desired weight and try to reduce at least a kilogram per month, which means 2.2 pounds per month. This did not materialized earlier because my supposed to be walking exercise using our thread mill at home was seldom done.

From watching the Biggest Loser show on TV, I have known that to loss a pound, we need to burn at least 2,400 calories. This means that by my walking exercise on the thread mill for 30 minutes that burns about 200 calories, I need to spend 12 days to loss a pound. So, if I have to exercise daily for 30 minutes, about a kilo weight loss in a month is very much possible based on my mathematical computation.
